A chilling tale for a hot day

To cool ourselves this hot day we will write a chilling short story.

TASK 1:

Read for inspiration:

“Mommy told me never to go in the basement, but I wanted to see what was making that noise. It kind of sounded like a puppy, and I wanted to see the puppy, so I opened the basement door and tiptoed down a bit. I didn’t see a puppy, and then Mommy yanked me out of the basement and yelled at me. Mommy had never yelled at me before, and it made me sad and I cried. Then Mommy told me never to go into the basement again, and she gave me a cookie. That made me feel better, so I didn’t ask her why the boy in the basement was making noises like a puppy, or why he had no hands or feet.”

TASK 2: Write your own story

You can also start it with the line: ”Mommy told me…”, if you like.

Words to use in your story.

asylum, ice pick, chain, puzzle, inmate, nurse, missing person,

  1. When I was a child, my family moved to an apartment where a murder had once been committed. Every night, my older sister closed our bedroom window. Once, when I looked out I saw three faces staring back at me. They had no hair, noses or mouths. They just kept staring at me until I stepped away from the window and tried to sleep, although it was difficult because of what I had just seen. A few months ago, my family talked about that same apartment, and I mentioned the faces. My sister turned to me with a shocked face. She said she had seen them too and that’s why she always wanted the window to be closed at night.

  3. THE MAN IN THE SNOW
I was at home in front of the television a late night when they suddenly cancelled the program for an additional news broadcast. Apparently, a serial killer had escaped from prison near me, and they warned everybody to stay indoors.

He glances at the glass doors to his terrace and see a man in the dark standing in the snow. He fits perfectly into the description of the killer and he starts to smile creepily. He quickly picks up the phone to call the police.

He puts the phone toward his ear and look back through the glass doors. The man has come a lot closer now…

But he then notices that there are no tracks in the snow.

What he really was looking at in the glass door was actually the man’s mirror image…

  4. Mommy told me never to wear that chain because it contained some dark magical powers, there was an asylum inmate trapped in their. She always told me that if tried to solve the puzzle then I would transform into that inmate and would destroy the world.

One day I actually solved the puzzle and I could see gold sparkles, in matter of millisecond I couldn’t see anything; I could only hear sound.
I was terrified because I could hear people scream and heard someone say ”please don’t kill me i’m a nurse and have children to take care of”.

Seconds passed It was so silent that I could hear the insect crawl and soon I heard the radio say ”There is was many missing persons” I lost track of time I don’t even remember the last thing I saw with my eyes and that made me realize that we should not take life for granted, I started to lose hope but soon I could hear the monster scream, it was a scream that I have never heard before and I could heard metal bits drop to the ground, I was able to see again beside me was my mom with an ice pick.

  5. When I was a liten boy my mommy used to tell me stories before I sleep at night. I remember one time she told me both exciting and scary tale which I really recall every night when I go to bed. It was about a man who have a lot of money, and he was a hard worker. He spend most of his time working helping others and playing puzzle every afternoon. He was famous and nearly all the people live in his city heard about him. He was a row model to all kids and youth at that time.

Suddenly some really bad thing happened to him. All his money and collecting were gone, including gold and a lot of valuable things he was keeping for a long time.
But the remarkable thing is, he was just like how he were before his wealthy gone. He never be worried or anxious for one day.

The man took his money get into a terrible situation, he tried to cross the border between two countries with the money. He try to scape but the police catch him and when they done investigation, they realize he’s a wanted and a missing person. they gave him an ice pick to put on his wounds. The inmate had big injuries and needed a nurse.

  6. A chilling story
It was a cold but sunny day in America.
Years ago, my father decided to check on the progress of our new house which was being built. He was there for a few days and was staying at some crappy Motel 6. His room was the last room at the end of the hallway. On the last night he was in town, he is woken by the phone ringing in his room. He groggily answers. It was the front desk and they say ”Sorry to wake you, but we’ve been receiving a couple of reports about this room being broken into and some stuff being stolen”. ”We are calling to make sure you lock your door and are safe.” My father replies that he is fine and hangs up. He decides to go double check that he locked the door.
As he sits up in the bed he notices that the door to his room is ajar. Being spooked, he cautiously checks the room and finds that nothing is missing and no one else is in the room. He creeps to the door and peaks out. Sitting right outside his room on the window sill of the hallway window is his shaving kit. Creeped out of his mind, he quickly grabs it and locks the door. After he calms down a bit he calls down to the front desk and says ”Hey, you just called me about the break ins around the hotel, and I just want to report that my room was broken into when I was sleeping, nothing stolen and I am fine. Figured you would like to know” The front desk replies, ”You must be mistaken, we never called your room and we haven’t received any reports of

  7. I hate it when my brother Charlie has to go away. My parents constantly try to explain to me how sick he is. That I am lucky for having a brain where all the chemicals flow properly to their destinations like undammed rivers. When I complain about how bored I am without a little brother to play with, they try to make me feel bad by pointing out that his boredom likely far surpasses mine, considering his confine to a dark room in an institution.I always beg for them to give him one last chance. Of course, they did at first. Charlie has been back home several times, each shorter in duration than the last. Every time without fail, it all starts again. The neighbourhood cats with gouged out eyes showing up in his toy chest, my dad’s razors found dropped on the baby slide in the park across the street, mom’s vitamins replaced by bits of dishwasher tablets. My parents are hesitant now, using ”last chances” sparingly. They say his disorder makes him charming, makes it easy for him to fake normalcy, and to trick the doctors who care for him into thinking he is ready for rehabilitation. That I will just have to put up with my boredom if it means staying safe from him.I hate it when Charlie has to go away. It makes me have to pretend to be good until he is back.

  8. Mommy told me to never go out at night alone, when i was young i was very curious about what would happend.

It would be better if she never told me. Because what just happend to me and what i expierenced was not worth the warning my mom did, i didn’t listen. But now i know why i would have trusted my mother.

Me and my older cousin decided to walk out in the middle of the night, a dark normal day in the autumn in Sweden. If you know Sweden, it’s really dark in the night in the autumn season.

We walked our way, my cousin took his cigarette and smoked it, dropped it on the floor. We we’re ready, my cousin warned me to be ready. Since he is older than me he knew what could happend at night, but he didn’t want to explain. He wanted me to experience it instead.

He gave me an electric baton and he had a mugger, those are illegal. Guess why? We were protecting ourselves against illegal with illegal. At that point, i was young, i didn’t know what was going on.

Then we walked past some lights out beside my old school, we saw 3 boys from a very long distance, they pointed at us. So i instantly screamed at my cousin because he wasn’t nervous like i was. I was looking around us all the time.

Then i heard some gunshots at us, and we were running as hell. We ran all the way home as fast as we could, at that point i was screaming out every curse word i had in my head, the ones that i learned. The one that i heard.

When we got home, no panic. My cousin calmed me down.

That’s the life im living now, i’m used to it.

Listen to what your mother tells you if it’s not too late, you don’t wanna see people die infront of you just because you hang with wrong people.

When we were on our way home, i never made it home, but it was my mother who ran out from the house and tried to help me.

Now i wish i listened to her.

I never talked to my cousin since that day.

My mother knew it, but i didn’t trust…
