    1. It was a serious dark setting. The readers were anticipating a serious event.
    2. He’s feeling quite aroused to be out and working. He enjoys his work, and he is excited to be out doing field work.
    3. She’s an informant for the enemy, after he fired his bullet toward the woman he got shot in the arm.
    4. As he takes down the turret man of destiny and glory, he decides to fire a bullet toward the woman of misery. The woman who in this scenario isn’t harmful is acting more like a distraction, so he gets shot in the arm by the other sniper of agony and pain.
    5. The street functions as an obstacle between the sniper and his goal, who in this case is the person he shot.
    6. Curiosity, he was so desperate to find out who he shot so he took the risk of crossing the street, where the turret was posted up.
    7. We are placed in such a scenario where we think the main protagonist is the person who is ”reading the story”. You never want to vouch for someone we haven’t heard so much about.
    8. Unnecessary risks might get you have a negative impact on the following events that occur to you as an individual. For instance, the man who is the ”good guy” as far as we know he smokes, drinks, and he decides to take a smoke even though there are hostiles nearby. That’s simply a death wish. But he wants to trigger something, he is so excited about doing the job. And again, when he decides to try and fool the other sniper that is also a risk as the other sniper might not fall for it and then. BOOM. You’re dead. He takes another risk when he crosses the street and almost gets mowed down by the turret. The biggest risk he takes, is when he fires all those 3 bullets. He does not know the people he’s shooting at, this time he was unlucky, and shot his brother. War makes you do stupid things. Plain and simple.

    1. The setting of this story is in the Irish civil war, in Dublin. It is also stated that the sniper is positioned on a rooftop.

    2. The sniper says he was to excited to eat before and that is why he is eating right there. That could mean that the situation he was in before was to intense to eat and the story says that his eyes are ”The eyes of a man who is used to looking at death”. That means he is used to the war but it doesn’t mean he likes it.
    3.
The sniper killed the old lady because she was an informer for the enemy and had given out his position. After the sniper fired his weapon at the woman, the other sniper shot him.
    4.
The woman in the story symbolizes how humans turn into object during wars and conflicts. In the beginning the woman is a regular bystander, but in the war she became a dangerous object for the sniper.

    5. The street functions as a way to symbolize the divide between them and us. It also functions as a kind of no man’s land in the story.

7.Then the sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brother’s face. The antagonist was hes own brother. because the sniper hes fighting against the hole story is the antagonist.

8.That war and conflicts does not have the result you want in the end. all this hard work. A bullet in the arm. And all this drama, for what just to kill your own brother. Was that hole scen even necessary. All the fighting for what. to kill your close ones. Just to fight for your beliefs.

  6. 1. From the descriptions of it, it sounds like the Irish war of independence.
    2. He hated it.
    3. She is an informant. She tells the man in the tank that he is so he kills both the man and the old woman. The other snipers notice him and he gets shot in the arm.
    4. She symbolizes worry, discomfort or something like that. The people are trying to be free and yet soldiers like The Sniper makes it hard for them to do so. It can also symbolize that humans are the tools during war. At first, she’s just an old lady passing by but she turns out to be an informer.
    5. In my opinion the street functions as a rift between family. This can also apply to friends, stranger and countries.
    6. He felt remorse for killing the sniper on the other side and he wanted to know who it was.
    7. I would say that The Sniper is the antagonist. HE is on the Republican side of the war and that is not good per say. Although, it could be said that the other sniper is the antagonist form the protagonist’s point of view.
    8. It’s very gritty and descriptive. I can feel myself in there amongst the main character.
